Last weekend was an amazing time at Victory Church for a number of reasons and without listing everything it would be fair to say unless you were there than words to describe it are futile! Across our services we had over 1600 attending with many making decisions for Christ and baptising 50 new converts. The visit of Pastor Bill Wilson was a precious moment as he encouraged us as a church to realise that God has positioned as a church to reach thousands of people with the Gospel. We must not take what God has done for granted but continue to seek His will for our valleys and the entire South Wales district. As I write this Im working through the stats for what Jesus has done in 12 months and Im blown away by His grace and favour. I will endeavour to post the stats for 12 months soon.

No Need to Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given you a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.”

Often we can get fearful of things. Now this verse tells us that God hasnt given us the spirit of fear. Fear isnt from God. I have yet to meet a christian who doesnt encounter fear for some reason or another in their life. What we have to remember is that we are human, and just because we do believe in God we are not perfect there is only One that was perfect before us and that was Jesus Christ.

So we will get fearful at times, whether its fear of being out of work, not having enough money, going against the flow of things, stepping out in faith, being on our own. It can be anything. But what we have to do when we do face a fear is give it to God. Now i know that it is much easier to type that out than actually do it. It is hard to do that, because then you have to try and forget about it and let God deal with it. But God doesnt want us to fear things, with Him we can face everything.

Psalm 16:8 says “I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me”We should take assurance in this, we should be able to find peace in this verse. If you can bodly say this verse out loud with confidence and believe that God is always right beside you, and because of this you cannot be shaken, whatever comes your way, you can endure it, God knows when your scared and when you fear something, He knows!

Matthew 6:34 says “So dont worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries, Today’s trouble is enough for today.”Now you could also say this was common sense? Have you ever had someone say to you “Why you worrying about that it may never happen?” … Its true isnt it, theres no point even thinking about it until it actually happens, you can get yourself worked up over something that will never happen, You can imagine God looking down saying “My Child why are you worring about this its not even going to happen”

So … the next time you start to fear something or start to worry about something, sit down, have some time with God, pray, ask Him to deal with it, then forget about it. And everytime it pops into your head say out loud “No I dont need to fear this God HAS taken care of it!”

God bless you
