Richard Taylor was born in Swansea and was raised in Llanelli. In his teenage years he began taking drugs and was known for all the wrong reasons. His drug addiction led to a life of crime and time in prison on several occasions. In 1993 Richard experienced the power of the Holy Spirit and after an encounter with Jesus Christ his life was changed. After 3 years in rehabilitation at Victory Outreach, he went on to study for a degree in theology, after leaving BBI he pastored an AOG church in the Midlands before becoming the Associate Pastor at Renewal Christian Centre one of the largest churches in the UK under the leadership of Dr David Carr.
Today he is the founding Pastor of Victory Churches. Under his leadership, Victory Church has expanded multiple times and has influenced thousands of people. Along with pastoring an ever-growing church, Richard Taylor is the Executive Director of Victory Outreach UK, a ministry that provides homes and rehabilitation for addicts and those on release from prison. Richard is also the founder of the Gateway Foundation which seeks to offer funding to those who are struggling from social disadvantage whilst on release from prison or those that are homeless. Richard holds credentials as an Alliance Minister with the Elim Pentecostal Church. Victory Churches are also part of the Elim movement.
Together, Richard Taylor and Victory Church are fulfilling their mission to reach Wales for Christ, change lives and touch the world. Richard is a bible teacher and evangelist who also travels and speaks, sharing his passion for reaching the lost . In addition to being the founding and preaching pastor of Victory Church, Richard is a renowned author, having written books such as “Authentic Christianity,” “Making your Faith Work,” and his biography “To Catch a Thief.” He is also the Principal of Victory Academy which teaches theology and leadership. His heart is to raise up future leaders to fulfill the mission of reaching Wales with the Gospel. He has appeared many times on TV and Radio and presented his own show on the BBC.
Richard is married to Jill they have four sons, one daughter and live is South Wales.
